Hip Hip, summer school's over! Overall it was an enjoyable experience. I hope all bio labs are like this next year. It's time for a nice relaxing 2 weeks of nothing school related.. I'm going to my 2nd musical in 3 weeks; The Lion King! i think 3 weeks is the shortest interval i've ever had in between shows where i've actually purchased tickets. Times like these is when i miss working at the Music Center. I could see musicals and plays every day if i so desired...or even twice in one day if it was a weekend and there were matinee and evening shows going on. Have i mentioned before that Theatregoing is an expensive hobby? here is a short list of the things i want to see this year and next: La Boheme, Contact, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, The Producers, 42nd Street (maybe), Bring in da Noise Bring in da Funk, RENT (if i go to NY), among other things, including other operas, symphony concerts, and dance concerts. I'm an idiot to not see The Car Man when it was in LA. i think when i grow up, i'll have a budget set aside for theatre tickets.
So, i've been contemplating my lack of activity in pursuing Mr. Crush, and i've pretty much reduced it all to fear. Now, i know i admire the whole existential philosphy on taking actions because actions demonstrate what you value, and the whole Nietzcheian thinking of living on the surface, no expectations, but dude, it's so hard to get over the initial step of just doing it! i have all these scenarios in my head of how to approach him or other people about him, but i just can't seem to get it out of my head and out of my mouth. for instance, today at lunch seemed like a good time to bring it up, but it didn't occur to me to do it because i wasn't thinking about it at the time. ohwell. do i leave it to fate, such that "things will work out eventually," as good Spud down below is described, or do i take action and do things myself? sometimes i don't mind the thinking; it's nice to daydream.
ugh, i can't believe i'm a senior. i barely went to my first irvine "college" party 2 weeks ago (what i would typically think of when i think "college party.") i think i'll follow a friend's advice and make this year more social than ever before. i'm still thinking though, that my socialness at the 1332 party was a fluke! i don't know if i can pull that off again. maybe it was the jungle juice, or whatever was in it. haha.
ciao!
