Where is My Mind?

7.16.2002

back to normalcy. vacation was fun, but after a while i was itching to get back to california. so my parents and i took a road trip through utah and wyoming, passing through a few national parks - bryce canyon, grand teton, and yellowstone, the latter of which we spent the most time. yellowstone is cool - i realize now that i really don't mind nature, hiking, and all that, except for the bugs. if the bugs went away, i'd be pretty happy. my favorite part of the park was the mudpots - they're like geysers and hot springs that gush out muddy water instead of clear water because the liquid is acidic.

i also saw some animals - lots of bison, a few up close, even saw one peeing (and my dad told me to tape it! i narrated it, "now isn't this such an invasion of privacy...") saw some elk too, they're not too bad, and i saw a coyote after Old Faithful erupted one night. i really wanted to see a moose but didn't see one =( no wolves either. i did see a black bear with two cubs, and a bald eagle with a fish in its mouth - those were pretty cool. the eagle did a fly-over.

but yeah...a week with my parents gets tiring after a while. i'm glad i'm back in irvine.
