Fun Weekend! The most important thing i have to say about this weekend is, "Support Pink Martini!" I had the privilege of seeing them in concert at the bowl on Friday night (thanks Sarah for hooking us up with free tix!) with the LA Phil accompanying them. They had the most rousing, awesome version of Ravel's "Bolero" i've ever heard. The best way i can describe their music is a mix of swing, jazz, and salsa. Articles i've read about them since describe the music as Cuban, French, etc. Either way, they're very eclectic. Classical and dance-y. Buy their CD! (Sympathique) =) Cool thing about that night was that the band did a CD signing after the concert and we got them all to sign our newly bought copies, AND the leader pianist kissed me and Tammy. hee hee. (Tammy also got a pic of him signing this one lady's boobs!)

After that we hung out with Sarah's coworkers at one of their apartments late into the night, playing multiple games of Mafia. I swear, i suck at that game whenever i'm mafia - i talk too much. It was fun, though, and i ended up getting home around 4am. Sarah's coworkers are pretty neat. Speaking of coworkers, i think i saw a few guys from the Asian group working the pool circle, but it was getting dark. i don't think Morno was there - i remember the guys always took Friday nights off at the music center.

So yeah - my message of the day - PINK MARTINI!
