Where is My Mind?

5.26.2002

mm...what a week. during the first half, TV pretty much ruled my evenings. i did get to go to the Getty on Sunday with people, and that was fun. i always enjoy trips to the getty, and i had a really good time with the company i was in. then came the damn season and series finales: x-files, boston public, ally mcbeal, smallville, and felicity. (thanks to the felicity finale i missed Dr. McGaugh's lecture, which i'd planned to attend for the past few weeks! i was really pissed off at myself for forgetting about it.) fortunately, six feet under is going on for a couple more weeks. in lieu of the other ones, however, i pretty much didn't get any work done most of the week, which is why i'm still here in irvine for the 3 day weekend. it hasn't been too boring. i have some of my philosophy paper done and i went to Mexico for the first time today. laura, sarah, and i went to TJ (my first time there)...it was a nice excursion, and i had a good time walking around and seeing the place. a little drab, and kinda scary with all the people begging and trying to get you to look at their goods, but it was okay. i didn't have much of a dinner because the tacos i ordered were spicy, so i didn't eat them. i ended up giving one to this little girl that showed up at our table with her hand held out and stared at me for the longest time. she was kinda cute, and i wasn't gonna eat the taco anyway, so i gave it to her. thanks to sarah for all the spanish interpretations. i barely finished eating some real food a half hour ago, so i'm a little energetic still.

next weekend's gonna be the busiest weekend of the year thus far! i'm excited - the return of Erin! YAY! Campus rep banquet and other related activities, like the retreat, among other things...softball too! playoffs?! whee! and laura's awards luncheon (which means NO PHYSICS LAB! thank God), janet's screenwriting festival, and the frankenstein viewing. i'm a little apprehensive about the last thing because he's probably gonna be there, somewhere, but i'm just hoping that he'll be too busy to notice, or i'll be too busy enjoying the company i'll be with and feeling all hectic about the retreat to be affected by him. i'm really excited about it, though...art, science, and research, even a little neuro brain imaging? it should be interesting.
