i don't want spring break to end!
quickie recaps:
day 1: the drive. 6:30am wakeup call from laura. kern county is infinitesmal - it never ends! our hotel room - kinda in the ghetto (our window overlooked chinatown and was located right near the gates) but it was okay, considering the price we were paying. 2 twin beds for 4 people? not to be. walking to pier 39 from pier 1 - too long. maps are helpful. annoying employees trying to lure you into their restaurants aren't. they're rather freakish
day 2: lotsa walking. windowshopped in chinatown. dim sum - yummy! walking to bus stops in not so nice neighborhoods - a little scary. golden gate park - big, but pretty. going to places an hour or less before closing - good! free admission to the Cali Academy of Sciences (science stuff!) and Japanese Tea Gardens. the academy has an awesome collection of fish in their aquarium. the only bad thing about things at closing is that the stores are closed beforehand...so i didn't get to buy anything there. the tea gardens are really pretty. it's cherry blossom season! i love cherry blossoms, they're my favorite flower. dinner in little italy - parked the car, walked around the entire neighborhood, and ate at a cool family restaurant - located next to the car. nice walking tour though! haha. and GHIRADELLI'S...yummy.
day 3: laura's day. the art-y day. galleries, SFMOMA, Cartoon Art Museum. cool stuff. i particularly enjoyed the photographs and the Calvin & Hobbes exhibit. the METREON - by far the coolest place ("the house that Sony built!"). Sony Style is my living room. i want them to build my house! i do better in hyperbowling than in the real thing. Dinner with Emma, at Castro - cool. chocolate wontons rock.
i had an awesome dream during the night...slapped someone multiple times...don't remember the details anymore. too bad.
day 4: shopping in chinatown. supposedly Roosters are shopaholics...and we proved that true. left SF just as rush hour was beginning - bad. Dublin - i think i'ts named that because it's surrounded by lush rolling green hillsides like ireland. but it's a "city" younger than i am, or as old as me! (mini-irvine, i say. reminded me of home) some drivers are real assholes.
so yeah...i don't want to go back to school on monday. =P back to reality. happy easter!
