Where is My Mind?

3.24.2002

Hooray, Spring Break has finally arrived, and it's gotten off to a nice start. Celebration by going to Pomona and having a fun night at Speedzone. Went through horrendous traffic Saturday morning (along with getting lost in Buena Park/La Palma/Cypress) to get my hair highlighted for the first time. it doesn't look too bad! i kinda like it. Edited hours of Olympic figure skating coverage. Saw Sweet Charity at IHHS...it was a trip going back there...some changes, but it's still the same old school...i miss it. even while driving on the way there, memories flashed through my head of the countless times i'd taken that route, and all the good and bad times i experienced there. The musical was good, too! I'd recognized the name from working the Fosse show - i'm always up for some Fosse. One disconcerting thing i felt during the show was seeing these kids i'd known in elementary school...in high school! graduating! or entering high school! things like that make me feel sooo old.

today was another pomona excursion with janice. good times. i still feel weird being in $*#('s neck of the woods and seeing the various streets and areas we drove around...streets that lead to his house..etc. There's an old neuroscience theory that when neurons die, memories go along for the ride. I kinda wish i had certain neurons die that held those random useless pieces of information that conjure up sentimental feelings and then those of anger. That space could be used for more important things, like social skills or academic information. or dancing ability.

so yay! road trip awaits. all dilemmas have disappeared. one wish for spring break came through, but another came about because of it...something i expected but didnt' really think about until it happened. ohwell. i was hoping it'd be an opportunity to reconstruct lost friendships, but i suppose it wasn't meant to be. it's gonna be a nice bonding experience nonetheless. i was planning on making cd's for the road trip, so i brought my burner home...but i idiotically forgot to bring the blank cd's with me. grrr! the thought totally bypassed my mind when i was packing!
