April Fool's!
I'm not creative enough to think of anything to play on people for april fool's. One time though, i think one radio station pretended that daylight savings time STARTED on april fool's day and were going on as if it were an hour ahead already. man that messed a lot of people up. i remember my brother complaining that he was late for work, lol, he totally fell for it.
Things are well. Spring is starting to show up. It's getting warmer, and i'm slowly observing leaves and flower buds appearing all over the place. Last year was disconcerting to realize one day that all the trees had leaves.
Davis was fun. Interview was weird. We'll see how that turns out. My host said she thought she had the worst interview there and ended up getting in. I got 4 rejection letters in the mail when i returned. On a brighter note, Loyola finally granted me an interview, and I made a long weekend out of it - i'm gonna visit Steff! yay :) Hopefully one Jesuit institution shows me some love. I kinda felt I was never Georgetown material, even back in high school through visiting Erin throughout the years.
Christian and I are getting into poker (like the rest of america). One of his friends was in a poker tournament during a charity event, and ended up getting 2nd place - AND $1500! Tax free! So Christian's slowly getting into the groove of things (we got a game for the Xbox) and enjoying watching it on TV. The way he's into the psychology of it all, I think he can do pretty well. Me, given my "honest face" as he calls it, would be horrible. (i vaguely recall writing about this earlier. sorry.)
There was a really cool program on the Discovery Channel last night about how biomechanics is studying martial arts. They made really cool graphics and computer generated scenes from point-light displays and all that jazz. It was really neat. (it was either that or Discovery Health's program about women getting some sort of implant to give them an electric orgasm, which honestly was pretty uncomfortable to watch. they had them in an MRI scanner and everything for one portion, scanning to see what happens while it was...on. it's like porn, but not...you know?)
Following the martial arts program, the latest South Park was on, and it was based on all the Terri Schiavo hoopla, with Kenny being kept on a feeding tube and everyone else battling it out (it also had another storyline apparently based on Constantine). Very interesting, and they kept things in perspective, how someone in that condition shouldn't be shown 24/7 on national television. She wouldn't have wanted all the attention; something like that should be between family members and NOT POLITICIANS. Meera also made an interesting point about the irony of it all.
Well it's 5:00. happy weekend! and don't forget to change your clocks :)
