OUCH.
i have a 2nd degree burn on my knee that is 1.5x1.5 inches and the blister, which runs about 100% of the aforementioned dimensions, is raised about 7mm.
it's humongous, it's so nasty! (but me being the sick person i am, think it's kinda cool. disgusting, but cool) i've been trying to keep it cool with wet paper towels to prevent it from bulging anymore. all in the name of science (and christmas money)... research shouldn't hurt this much! (of course it was an accident, but hee, this isn't what i expected to happen for my first go at being a research volunteer.)
needless to say, i hope my mom doesn't find out about this...she'll just tell me not to volunteer anymore.
aside from the burn, the actual scanning process isn't so bad. i wasn't as claustrophobic compared to the first time i went in. let's see if i can get into any more protocols before the holidays.
speaking of the holidays, i can't wait to go home! i miss everybody so much! i should've booked another flight home to spend more time, but i'll try to make the best of the time i have for the 2.5 days i'm back home.
Weekend was pretty fun. Erin was in town so i hung out with her and her friends Friday night, got really drunk but slept like a baby. Saturday i went out to dinner with Mariam, Ilana, and Nik at this Ethiopian restaurant in Adams Morgan. It was pretty good food! The spongy bread turned out to be really filling, and we had an excellent bottle of blackberry honey red wine to go with our dinner. We proceeded to hang out around Dupont, at Kramerbooks and this really cool tea place, Teaism. Hopefully these going out to dinner at different restaurants turns into a fairly regular thing.
