Where is My Mind?

wow...what a weekend

kristen's wedding day was pretty enjoyable. during the ring ceremony, the preacher was describing the actual wedding ceremony that took place earlier that day, and it sounded really nice from what he described. he said she and hal were facing each other, holding hands, and there were mirrors behind each of them so it seemed as if they were seeing each other for eternity, and it symbolized how they were to be together past death. it was really touching. the ceremony went by pretty quickly, inah and lynne and i arrived 15 minutes late and they were just getting started. kristen and hal looked really happy, i'm so happy for them.

the reception was nice, it was really cool seeing all the immacers again after so long...everyone looks the same, and like sara o'neil said, it's quite refreshing. so interesting that she and heather will be down in OC next year. everyone's heading down to the irvine area while i'm leaving. castaways is always nice, i'd never been to their banquet rooms before. food was pretty good, i swear i'd had potatoes similar to that somewhere else, maybe at some other reception. they had a small flamenco show after dinner, which was pretty cool, my only complaint was that it lasted a little too long for my liking...we were itching to hang out and talk some more, and some of us were itching to not drive too late to palm springs, and we dind't want amanda and tammy waiting for us too long down at the burbank mall, where we'd left them.

it's pretty hard to believe that kristen's married. i think she may be the first one in our hs class to do so. that's really cool, that she found someone, but it's really scary at the same time. i can't see myself getting married in any near future. i can't even approach someone about getting together. i think i'm too scared. that's one reason. 2nd of all, me being the practical person i am, i don't think it'd be practical right now, seeing how i'm moving across the country in 2 months. but i do have mixed feelings about this, because i do miss the intimacy and closeness of it all. it was really touching when the best man said today was the first time he'd seen hal so happy. i really do wish the best for both of them.

palm springs, er, palm desert, i mean. hot, fun, sober. it was a nice and relaxing girls weekend out. the timeshare was really nice. high quality. the poolwater was so warm, at 6:30 pm it was refreshing to jump in after all the heat. we were planning on drinking and playing games later that night but the combined effects of the heat, swimming, hot tub, and big dinner tired us out and we just ended up watching, of all movies, The Wedding Planner. i think the TV station was running some romantic comedy night or something.

one funny thing, on the shuttle back from the hotel to the villas, there was this one girl talking with another family, and what i heard of their conversation was pretty interesting. she was here for the weekend with her girl friends for a bachelorette's weekend (apparently they're a year older than us), (we saw a van in the parking lot with "GIRLS GONE WILD" and "HERE CUMS THE BACHELORETTE!" etc etc etc...we proceeded to assume that that van was from this particular party), her friend was getting married next week, and the fiancee was in Lake Havasu this weekend for his bachelor's thing. shana noticed when she said this, i smiled, cuz i was just there last weekend! hee hee.

today we spent way too much time at the outlet stores. i bought way too much stuff for my liking. but it was fun. amanda, tammy, inah and i went to TGIF's for dinner and amanda and tammy got drunk, to make up for not drinking the night before. tammy's so funny. she's the best. hehehe!
