hm, yeah, haven't updated and tons of stuff has happened.
aside from the many parties (sarah's grad party, kristen's bridal shower, laura r's party, flo's going away shindig) and stuff i've gone to, i got my mcat scores tuesday morning.
thanks for the thoughts, eric! but yeah. no super high score like you. MAD PROPS for your excellent score, i'm so proud of you!
it's so weird, progressively i'd gotten higher scores with each practice test, so i thought i'd definitely break 30 on the real thing. so yeah, i'm disappointed, especially with damn verbal. ANY verbal section on a standardized test has given me pain and suffering. hehe, and another thing regarding practice tests...this has happened before, where i do well on the practice but something happens and i don't do so well on the real thing. i never reached my PSAT score on the SAT. i wanted to break 700 in verbal, never did. wanted to break double digits in the verbal section here, didn't happen. i think i freaked because on the practice tests, i'd judge which passages to do based on their length, like i'd do the 65 liners first and then do the longer ones later...but on the real test all the passages were around 65 lines, so i didn't know how to go through with it, so i just went through them in order.
anyways, i'm over it. thank you everyone for the words of encouragement that all is not lost. it means a lot, and i'm glad to know you care =). my score's okay. not great. and one friend said a mutual friend of ours got a lower score than me, had a lower gpa than me and is going to med school in the fall. in cali, which is cool too. i do have the option of taking it again next april, somewhere in maryland, hehe, and i guess i'll have more time to prepare since i'll just be working (and then i can get a bomb score like eric, hee). so i guess the mcat was the downfall of april. spring quarter was great, i have a nice 4.0 quarterly gpa sandwiching my UCI career. so i can take it again in april, and if i'm still not satisfied or my motivation has wavered even more, i can apply to grad school in the fall. or i can get lazy and just go for a master's and work. i feel like i have all this potential but i'm starting to get tired.
i'm really glad now that my NIH thing is 2 years. hehe. now i need to figure out when to have a life...
