ugh, back to school. let me reminisce about the wonderful spring break i had as i procrastinate reading about rabbit brains...
the last two days were pretty kick back. i managed to convince erin to go outside with me and take pictures before it stopped snowing hard, and then proceeded to chill at the Leavey center lounge until dinner, or something. oh yeah, i went with erin and megan to their radio show for a couple of hours before dinner. that was neat; they should talk more because it's funny when they talk, but they play lots of music. after dinner we walked around a bit trying to find the movie theatre, and it was snowing really really lightly; it was so nice! we watched Gangs of New York with christine, jeff, and a couple of his friends that night, which took up the brunt of the evening.
monday i managed to pack everything into my carry-on. i'm so proud of myself for managing a 5 day trip into a carry-on and a backpack. it was bright and sunny, but super duper cold. i had a couple of hours to kill before meeting with erin after her class so i walked down the river towards the memorials in hopes of seeing cherry blossoms. i managed to do it, but didn't get as far as the jefferson memorial. still, it was a nice scene, with the bright sky, white and pink blossoms, some green willow trees, and the river. hella cold, though...my ears were freezing under my beanie, especially with the wind chill. i walked back to christine's and got my stuff, had lunch with erin and chatted before meeting up with cory. it was a really nice break; i had a nice, relaxing time, and managed to get some work done in the process.
so cory drove me to the jefferson memorial and we saw more cherry blossoms, but the sky had turned super cloudy and dark. good thing i walked around beforehand! we took a couple of pictures and he said we could try doing part of the fdr memorial before heading to the airport, so we went through about 1/4 of it (backwards, mind you, started at 1945 and was heading back in time) but it had gotten super super cold and eventually it started snowing again! it wasn't hard, but it was pretty windy and there was a good amount of it falling, sideways. it was nice though...cold though. beautiful, but cold. by the time we got back to his car and headed towards the airport it had stopped snowing and the sky was turning blue again. what the hell! dc's so weird.
i got delayed in detriot an extra hour and a half, which sucked, so i ended up arriving back in la around 11 and got back to irvine around 1. i still have to unpack. classes this quarter are going to be hectic, with neuro lab and all, and they have major tests this month which will take away from mcat studying! grrr. stupid test. i'm so leaning towards grad school now....i'm feeling like i'm at a major crossroad in my life at this point. med school? grad school? if i go to mt. sinai i'm definitely gonna have to go to grad school. they provide housing. and more money. and they're in manhattan. nih...fortunately some bethesda labs contacted me. i still have to see about that. i don't like baltimore. at least where the nida irp labs are....aaaah! i'm feeling soo much stress, along with other personal junk, it's not good!
okay, enough ranting...back to rabbit brains.
