WOW. click on "Karen" to go to her page and her entry from the 17th....deep stuff. i can wholeheartedly relate! Mentor and mentee think alike.
I think i was on some sort of high yesterday after Neuro...my presentation went really well and people really liked it. I felt so high and giddy i wasn't particularly caring about what i was doing on ring road. i saw some random cute guy near the student center walking the opposite direction as me and i guess we kinda made eye contact. as i said, i was on some high so i was a little smiley. i actually managed to maintain eye contact for a few seconds and smile a little! it was pretty amazing compared to how low i've been feeling, prior. Anyways we simply walked past each other (i'm by no means forward enough to actually say something!) and i continued on towards Admin. i smiled a little more afterwards, and i even felt a little giddy. It's similar to the whole RJ business, but that went nowhere...how unfortunate. Same goes for this instance. So, i think this high continued throughout the day, because the day wasn't bad at all. I asked random people in line to help me out with a friend's project, and they were all really nice! i didn't really think much of it, seeing how they were in line, and had not much else to do but wait, so i simply walked up to them and said, hi, want to help me? but i guess it's a sign of guts. i don't know if i would have been so forward before, or maybe it was the high still. at any rate, i hope it continues.
Sigh...long weekend of catch-up. I might as well move into the science library. Oh! Haha, i somehow made a random running joke on my tour on thursday...i remember on one tour a guide had mentioned that there was a lab in social sciences that studied room colors and productivity, so i mentioned that, and how orange seemed to be most effective. Later on, as i was telling my group how the science library is my favorite place to study, i said something to the effect of "the rooms are big, the lighting's really good, it's orange-y..." and i kinda referred back to the soc. sci lab without really knowing it. and they laughed! it was pretty neat, and i was glad they had remembered such a random fact. So yeah...time to be productive.
