What a weird weekend it's been...good, but weird. I planned on finishing physics yesterday (questions and lab), but i'm still working on them! Bio has been pushed back so many times; i'm beginning to worry. At least the distractions have been enjoyable. Saturday night i went out with my Cambridge friends and actually ended up going clubbing for the first time in this country. It was decent, but not as fun as England, of course...maybe it's just a thing of mine, but i didn't particularly like so much rap/hip hop...it's kinda hard to bop around to. Sunday...went to the mall by myself. It's nice to shop around and not have any time constraints or having people wait around for you to finish buying things. Oddly enough, many stores had their winter gear on sale and were preparing their spring break collections...and it's still winter! Good deals abound. Score. The rest of the night was supposed to be dedicated to finishing physics but the evening was pretty much shot...went to the market, ate, and had people over for cookies. Couldn't go to the library - it was closed early for the holiday weekend. Today...went gift shopping for people's birthday gifts, that was fine
Last night we also rented Moulin Rouge. It's not the best movie ever, but i didn't particularly hate it either. It is a little weird though, with the various cover songs. At least that decreased as the movie progressed. My admiration for Ewan McGregor increased, however...he's got a pretty good voice! Overall, though, i still dont' think i'm ready to watch anything romantic...i just get all cynical and think, romance and love can go to hell...it doesn't really exist, it's merely in one's imagination. Part of that was due to the bastardly behavior of one certain person with whom i thought things were a little better between us. Needless to say, i'm still jaded. i suppose i got too excited and took a mile with it, when in reality things haven't moved at all. Go figure.
