Hauling ass
So apparently Hoag sent in their LOR to UCI on Aug 31 and DIDN'T TELL ME (like they were supposed to). The program director had emailed me on the 29th that they were still working on it so i gave them 2 weeks before getting back on their backs. And it was submitted 2 days later! So i could've been complete at my schools earlier, but ohwell. the requests are in. i now have to haul ass on the rest of my apps (not too many) so everything will be in by the end of the month (i.e., Jamaica - time for a real vacation!)
this was a nice kick in the butt.
in other news, my mom sent me a bunch of Japanese persimmons from our tree back home. YUM. Christian and I saw Garden State on Friday; we both really liked it. Since there were a bunch of tornado warnings last night from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan, it was real rainy and windy such that as we got out of the movie theatre and i was waiting for him to get out of the rest room, the power went out. It was pitch black for about 10 seconds before it came back on (or the reserve power came on). That was a bit freaky. It's a beautiful day out today but on the cool side (60s). The humidity will be back later this week =P. I'm presenting my project at lab meeting on wednesday (yikes!) and Alex (our lab big cheese) is expecting a lot out of me. i hope i can represent.
