Freaking Out II
need to vent...
Now i am kicking myself for not getting in these letters of rec sooner. Frickin' Northwestern give you a WEEK to finish their secondary, and UCI and UCSD give you a month. Not terrible, right, and it's good to get them out of the way early, but they also want letters of rec in by the beginning of september. and how many letters are in my file at UCI right now??? THREE. out of SIX. Hoag is taking their sweet time with theirs, and i hope i got the point across that it needs to be at UCI in the next couple of weeks, or else it won't get into my file in time and therefore the file won't get to the school in time and my application will be bunk. Lani is MIA, i've emailed her a number of times when i found out her letter wasn't in there yet. I'm gonna call her lab tomorrow and see what happened to her. Alex, i need to meet with him in the next few days to discuss what he'll write about, and hopefully that'll be done in the next week. AAAAAAHHHHHHH......
Christian has been absolutely wonderful putting up with me. I cannot thank him enough. We went up to Pittsburgh last weekend so he could meet with a potential mentor for grad school, and that went reallly well for him, i'm so proud. it's awesome. I didn't realize U Pitt was such an urban campus, but it is. The city's pretty nice, everyone was friendly, and David & Emily are there as well. There's no tax on clothes in PA! But like other east coast states, they have weird alcohol selling laws. We'll see how my Pitt application goes, fortunately they dont have strict deadlines, but i'd like to get everything in asap.
