whee!!! what was outside when i woke up this morning?
SNOW! the neighborhood was covered in white, it was really pretty. it was my first time walking in real snow (not that fake crap at Mountain High), but it was a mix of snow and slush, so it wasn't really fluffy. And tonight after dinner it was snowing flakes :) Tomorrow i'm gonna walk around, not freeze hopefully, and take some pictures en route to Christmas shopping.
I've been looking through my past blogs and find that i haven't done much introspection in a while. So I'm thinking, once in a while, i'll post a question that people have been asked in med school interviews; hopefully this'll also serve as a log of potential answers if/when i do interview.
today's question, from a Duke University interview: Name several books you've read recently.
The last book i actually finished was...gosh, was it Harry Potter V? Or maybe it was The Bell Jar, i think i read that over the summer. That was good, i can understand how it's an excellent book, but i think i'd need to read it again to fully grasp it. But now i have quite a list of books that i'm in the midst of reading: American Gods by Neil Gaiman, Memory & Emotion by Dr. McGaugh, The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan, and The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien.
Books that i want to read: Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire, books by Oliver Sacks, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, and people at work have recommended The DaVinci Code and Complications. I kinda want to read Girl with a Pearl Earring too, especially with the movie coming out soon.
I'm also rereading Harry Potter V for fun.
Solution: less time on the internet, more time in bed with a good book. keeps me warmer too :) hee.
