Where is My Mind?

wow, what an interesting weekend it's been. very fun filled and eventful!

friday afternoon/evening: i met up with steff and albert to try to get into an Ataris music video shoot in downtown LA and met up with steff's sister's boyfriend and high school friend. It felt like another ghostbar line fiasco because we waited there for 2.5 hours and nothing happened. There was this long line of people waiting to go into vans that shuttled them to the shoot location and apparently the location had filled up already . so we were there waiting for nothing and decided to go eat dinner at old town pasadena. steff, abby, and i got there first and shopped around before albert and mike came along. we ate dinner at buca di beppo and there was this really hot waiter walking around. steff and abby have a code for taking notice to hot guys: they say something like "meanwhile..." or something like that and point out the guy in question. The hot waiter served our garlic bread to us and whenever he walked by our section we'd go "meanwhile...!" it was pretty funy and i think he noticed that we were noticing him.

after dinner mike's friend dan met up with us again and he brought along a couple of his friends from usc, chris and some turkish guy whose name i've forgotten. we all walked around some more, tried going to a comedy club, but the cover charge was too expensive. So that was 2 events of the evening that failed to follow through. in the end there was a decision to go to westwood and get some diddy reese cookies, so we drove all around la that evening. chris seemed pretty chatty with me and abby thought he may be flirting with me. now, he's okay, i guess, kinda cute, kinda on the short side though, but when we talked although he seemed interested it felt like he was grilling me with everything that i said. i didn't feel comfortable talking with him even though he did seem to be interested. at the end of the evening, steff, albert, and abby left for irvine and the other guys walked me to my car. along the way, in some random context of conversation, chris said, "who knew future doctors were this good looking?!" to me....needless to say i was a little taken aback and a little flattered, seeing that i wasn't looking particularly pretty that night and my self esteem regarding looks is pretty low. then he kept trying to drop hints to exchange numbers but i was still in shock from the compliment and since i'm so inept at this whole dating/flirting scene i was alittle oblivious to the hints, so i didn't give him any contact information, which turned out to be a good thing. I told steff and albert what happened the next evening and they said he seemed like a seedy guy, someone not to be trusted. which went with my gut feeling that i didn't like the vibe i got when talking to him.

saturday: vegged at home during the day and went back to irvine in the evening, where the cambridge group was meeting to wish albert a bon voyage before he went back to NY. steff hosted a potluck dinner party which was a lot of fun, and there was fondue for dessert. they watched The Royal Tenenbaums afterwards, but i dind't relay watch it because i was asleep for most of it. The drive back to the apartment was really foggy it was a bit scary. (the drive down to irvine was similarly scary at some portions of the freeway).

Sunday: another interesting day in this long weeekend...after getting some homework done, we started the evening by secretly decorating david's room in CV. inah and amanda lured him out of the apartment and kept him away while laura, sarah, lynne, and i decorated his walls with posters, origami, glow in the dark stars, and installed a shelf. david was so surprised, it was a lot of fun doing it and watching his reaction because there were so many clues as to what we were doing throughout the day. afterwards some people got drunk and i was on eof the sober folk again, which was fine because everyone's fun when drunk. and then i got 3 hours of sleep....

today wasn't so bad, woke up feeling sleepy still, but i had enought energy to watch Chicago, which i really liked. and now i'm really tired.
