i went to the la brea tar pits for the first time, with bryan, katy, diandra, chris, and kiira. it was a fun excursion. we went to lacma afterwards. there was a special exhibit on George Washington going on and they had some pretty famousn american paintings on display...the famous portrait (and who knew there was more to the painting than GW? even the sky in the background had meaning). there was also the famous Cotton Pickers painting that i'd seen in literature books and some Mary Cassatt paintings. it was neat. we also went all around la looking for an open, not crowded roscoe's chicken and waffles. we ate really late, around 4pm, and we were sooo hungry. i managed to eat a thigh and leg and about 1 waffle (there were 2 but i ate half of each)...i was sooo full afterwards that when i got back, i took a 3 hour nap, or something like that.
