No such thing as a free flight
Yay, back in LA.
My flight this tims around was a reward for my frequent flier miles. While the flight was free, i did have to pay $2.50 each leg ($10 total) for "9/11 security fees" - i.e., pay the TSA. Not only that, but the flight was delayed about 20 minutes in Dulles for air traffic control-related delays in Chicago, my connector city, but then, in Chicago, I was delayed for 2 HOURS because 1. we had to go back to the gate after taxiing who knows how long because something in the cargo needed to be repositioned for "wind balance" or something, and THEN all westbound flights were grounded due to bad incoming weather. That lasted another 40 minutes to bring the grand total to 2 hours. UGH. At least i got here safely, and not during rush hour, which worked out fine. Got to see a nice sunset on the ride back.
Going down to the OC and possibly grunion running tomorrow night :)
